Amanda Buckley
Amanda Buckley is an artist-researcher whose practice explores how structured material processes shape what becomes noticeable, what comes to make sense, and what comes to matter.
Amanda’s practice develops through sustained engagement with questions that emerge from making. Individual works are not conceived as illustrations of ideas but as opportunities to investigate them under particular material and spatial conditions. While weaving forms a primary site of inquiry, projects often extend across other media as observations are revisited in new contexts. The resulting works are connected less by medium than through ongoing processes of return and recontextualisation, where observations encountered in one context reappear in another.
Buckley Collective: A Marriage of Artist and Artisan
Buckley Collective is the shared studio space of Amanda Buckley and Scott Buckley—a partnership in life and in making.
Our practice is shaped by:
- sensorial knowing: where knowledge arises through thought, sound, rhythm, and atmosphere
- emergent making: where form unfolds through doing
- relational transfiguration: where the ordinary becomes extraordinary through presence and attunement
- incomplete knowing: where ambiguity is not a lack, but a method of staying open
- temporal resonance: where meaning unfolds across time, relation, and encounter, echoing through gesture and trace
We value:
- curiosity as a method of inquiry
- creativity as relational unfolding
- openness as a stance of attunement
- impact as resonance, not resolution
- modesty as epistemic humility
- generosity as a gesture of withness
- genuine emotion as embodied presence
